GENERAL CLEANING PROCESS

Focus should be made on high touch areas. These may include, but aren’t limited to

  • Tables

  • Doorknobs

  • Light switches

  • Countertops

  • Handles

  • Desks

  • Phones

  • Keyboards

  • Toilets

  • Taps

  • Sinks

 

Extra attention and frequency should be given to

  • Payment terminals

  • Checkout counters & conveyors

  • Customer baskets / trollies

 

  1. Remove organic matter / dirt by using a regular soap or detergent and scrubbing or wiping, as necessary.

  2. Rinse with plain water and a separate cloth

  3. Apply a disinfectant such as diluted bleach (100ml bleach to 4l water) and allow to air dry

FREQUENCY

As a guide, consider whether dirt has accumulated since the last clean. If not, a disinfectant being applied may be sufficient.

 

This suggests there is a cycle of cleaning and disinfecting to adopt to a site’s needs. For example an 8 hour day might be approached on this cycle:

Pre-Opening        Clean & Disinfect

+2 hours               Disinfect

+4 hours               Disinfect

+6 hours               Disinfect

After Closing       Clean & Disinfect
